    • The 1st annual Ophoenix Festival of the Arts Fundraiser was held on October 6, 2007. Over 50 pieces of art were sold in the silent auction, and five local artists were present to display, discuss, and sell their work. All of the proceeds of the silent auction went to Ophoenix, as well as 10%-20% of the sales made by the artists. The event was our most successful fundraiser to date!
    • We finished working with Sub-Acute Saratoga Children’s Hospital to provide them with wireless internet access for their patients. This facility serves extremely ill children who usually stay hospitalized for long periods of time, sometimes for years. Most of these kids have families who live far from the hospital. With the system that Ophoenix gave the hospital, these children now have access to email, instant messaging, and video visit technology, enabling them to stay in touch with family and friends.
    • We designed and installed our first Portable Adaptive Technology System (PATSy 1) to help a paralyzed patient access the internet. This story was covered by NBC 11 news. More information about the TV coverage, including a copy of the news segment, can be found at this link: http://www.nbc11.com/health/11127332/detail.html?dl=mainclick .
    • Ophoenix helped 6 more patients leave Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and return home by purchasing equipment such as ramps, wheelchairs, shower benches, etc.
    • Ophoenix is now listed on GuideStar (http://www.guidestar.org/), the leading source of information on U.S. nonprofit organizations, including a searchable database of more than 1.5 million IRS-recognized nonprofit corporations.
