    • The Ophoenix home page is getting a fresh new look on May 11! Please come visit on Monday, May 12 at http://www.ophoenix.org/ to see our updated and more accessible web site.
    • Ophoenix's Third Annual Wine Tasting Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, May 17 from 2pm to 6pm at a beautiful private home in Los Altos, California. Enjoy music by "I've Never Been to Brisbane", wine from local wineries, food, a silent auction, and other exciting activities — and it's all for charity!
    • We have built our first Apple Macintosh based Portable Adaptive System (PATSy 2) to help a recently paralyzed 10 year old boy who is recovering from an injury at a hospital in Oakland, CA. This laptop, equipped with a mobile broadband adapter, provides this youngster with access to the web, email, instant messaging, and video call capabilities. He will be able to access the internet from any location that is within reach of the Sprint cellular network.
    • We are planning to install a wireless internet access for patients (WIAP) at the Children's Recovery Center of Northern California, located in Campbell, CA. Their mission is to provide innovative and nurturing care to infants and young children with complex medical conditions. Planning for the WIAP is underway now and installation is expected to be underway in the summer.
    • We are building another Windows based PATSy (PATSy 3) system to help a young man who is about to leave Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. He can only control the computer through head movement, and is moving to another facility that does not provide internet access to their patients. He will be able to access the web, email, text instant messenging, and video instant messenging. Access to the internet will be possible from any location that is within reach of the Sprint cellular network.
    • Ophoenix has been nominated for The Tech Museum Awards in the Equality category for our innovative use of technology to help the disabled. Click here to learn more about the Tech Museum annual award program.
    • Ophoenix has started a new project that utilizes the virtual environment "Second Life" to help disabled people. This project is in the early stages of planning and more information will be available in May, 2008.
